Privacy Policy Statement

The NIESA website was developed and is hosted by CAB International.  At CABI, we are committed to protecting your privacy and our overall Privacy Policy statement can be viewed at http://www.cabi.org/privacyPolicy.asp.

 

The NIESA website requires personally identifiable information about NIESA members as part of membership registration and to fulfil the NIESA website’s requirement as a communication tool.  The registration process for member access to the NIESA website will collect the following details:

  • Name
  • Email address
  • Photograph (optional)
  • Profile (optional)

 

Other information collected per member includes the following usage information:

  • Number of posts to the Discussion Forum
  • Date and time of last submission to the Discussion Forum
  • History of Discussion Forum submissions (forum, subject, date and time)
  • Preferences for Discussion Forum threads and Replies displayed per page, although there is a default setting.

These are used for information in terms of identifying trends and growth of the Discussion Forum as a communication tool.

 

CAB International does not, under any circumstance, sell, trade, or rent your personal details to any third party.

The Royal Society South Africa-UK Science Networking Scheme [added: 18/09/2009 09:12:04]

Dr Driekie Fourie, ARC Grain Crops Institute, South Africa and Prof Brian Kerry, Rothamsted Research, UK have been awarded a grant under The South Africa-UK Science Networks scheme supported by the UK’s Royal Society and SA’s National Research Foundation. The funding provided support for a one week visit of UK nematologists to labs and farms in South Africa followed by a one-day workshop to examine possible research collaborations between the two countries and opportunities to link to the NIESA

American Geophysical Union [added: 18/09/2009 09:05:43]

• Dr Talwana has received usd10 000 from American Geophysical Union through the Global System for Analysis, Research and Training (START) for his project entitled “Pathogenicity and species shifts in plant parasitic nematodes affecting banana production in the East African Highlands: what is the influence of climate change?” His was one of only 17 projects awarded from a total of 402 applications!

The Royal Society Tanzania-UK Science Networking Scheme [added: 15/01/2009 11:04:34]

Support from The Royal Society Tanzania-UK Science Networking Scheme in April, 2008 established links between the Ministry of Agriculture & Food Security, Tanzanian Horticultural Association (TAHA),Research, Institutes in Arusha, Dar es Salaam, Kibaha and Morogoro and nematologists in NIESA, which led to presentations in Arusha at the annual meeting of TAHA and a one-week training workshop for Plant Health Inspectors.
